| From the Where2sing.com forum: Kititude: We had a similar thing happen when we judged the recent CCC final, but regarding who should win the encouragement award. Of the four judges, two of us were pushing one singer (and opposing the singer the other two judges had chosen) and vice versa. In the end, I encouraged debate in order to define what we felt the encouragement award should achieve and through this, we were able to determine that 2 judges were looking at it as a kind of 4th place prize. Once we established that, we were able to better define the kind of singer that should be awarded such a prize and then it was pretty easy.
Most judges who look after small to medium sized comps don't get paid for their services but they should take their role seriously none-the-less. It's their job IMO to sit there and work it out until there's a consensus, none of this 'tied' or 'audience vote' crap...
