And who is the effect for, the singer or the audience? Should the host not just aim for a clear sound and let the singer sound how the singer sounds? Do we really want the singer to sound better than what they really are? Opens up all sorts of pandora's boxes, not least the gradual improvement of the singer. How can a singer improve if they're not hearing what they really sound like?
