In any case, if you're sounding tinny, then perhaps the sound hasn't been mixed correctly rather than there being no FX. I hate to break it to you but at no time have I ever said that karaoke is just about the singer or just about the audience. Did you perhaps get a little confused by this line: 'And who is the effect for, the singer or the audience?'
I'm also curious as to whether you truly think that karaoke should just be a bit of fun 'but the truth is most people are just there for fun and because they like to sing' or whether we should censor bad singers 'Karaoke is not just about the singer but the audience. There is nothing worse than when a singer gets up and half the place leaves because people make atmosphere'. You seem to have some conflicting views here... What do you suggest we do with these bad singers who cause people to up and leave? Personally, I'd like to see them given the opportunity to improve, which is I guess how you became such a awesome singer. I'm sure if done well, FX can be a rewarding experience, but there's a lot of FX mis-use out there, hence me bringing it up.
