| From the Where2sing.com forum: A Hosts job is sometimes difficult but should always be enjoyable and rewarding or if not then the Host should find a new career in which to embark.
The Host’s task is to mix and make singers sound great and also for them to be happy after their performance.
All singers are different with some singers requesting various things to take place when their singing such as

More Bass as my voice needs it

More Reverb
Less Reverb
More Treble
Less Treble
Heaps of Smoke to cover me so they can’t see whose singing
No smoke
Fold back louder
No fold back
And of course certain Key changes.
Everyone’s different and that’s what I love about Karaoke.
At the end of the night if someone says “thanks for a great night” then it’s all been worthwhile.
