Hosts not starting on Advertise time ( or even near such time.)
One show i go to offen, advertises starting time 9pm , not once has he ever started at that time with karaoke , now i don't call putting on a compiled c.d with music starting on time , so last Sat i said to my self i'll get to this pub at 9.30 pm as he usally starts between 9.30 & 9.45 pm , Gee's i just hate ' p*ss farting around, listening to alot of songs i may not even enjoy , so yeah i turned- up at 9.30pm and low & behold the ' karaoke doesn't start till 10.15 pm Geeeeeeeeeeees!!!
now i know there was only 3 or 4 singers there including the host but hey ! the show could of started a hell of a lot earlier by rotating us 3 or 4 singers and then expanding the rotation as new singers come up ,
i see it from this point of veiw , ...1... when i was doing shows i would always start right on time and in return always finish right on time ,. no if's no but's ( unless they paid for more time ) , if even NO-one was there my wife and I would do ' a caberat show ' and incorprate singers into it as the came up with there songs ,so i don't suffer hosts who just start when they are ready.
..2........ look at it from the employers point of view , he or she may think that they are NOT getting VALUE for money , well lets face it if you employed a builder for 4 hours and for the first hour or so the builder sat around listening to the radio and did sweet bugger all , you would be happy and you would think that you were being ripped- off....
3........ people who love to sing and go there for that reason will start doing what i did......turning-up later and later or simply won;t bother turning -up at all one day , which means turn-over will decline and your gig ( job ) may decline also ,if you get my meaning lol..........
What are other SINGERS ( i think some hosts may get on the defence with this one ) experiances or opinions
