From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hi Tom ...i believe if they advertise a certain ' starting time ' then hosts should do all in there power to start at that time , to use an ol' saying ' a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush ' and why would they think that ' early birds spend less money ....ie... there was a show i went to almost every time karaoke was on ( once or twice a month ) starting time 9pm so my wife and i and a freind or 2 would get there at 7.30 pm , all buy a 2 course meal and a 2 or 3 good quailty bottles of wine at restaurant prices then get ready for karaoke and purchase a fair few JD'S on ice , now if the host starts at 9.30 to 10pm this can be quite a long period to be sitting and waiting and besides i and others like to head home at around midnight for reasons i have stated on this site before , but what the hosts must understand that people like me are very loyaled and really are not asking for alot plus we are pretty good singers who can ' read ' a crowd and know what to sing ,when to sing it and also know how to entertain a crowd , big or small , and i say that with all modisty ( sp? )...

Rovics ..... i am not or were not ever referring to your show , i'm sure no-one is worried about 5,10 or even 15 minutes late start but yes we are talking about Hosts that are SERIAL late starters , putting on a compiled c.d' and waiting untill they have a big list of singers and they do this show after show after show
the way i see it is if they want to start 30 min's to an hour later then they should advertise this starting time and we will arrive accordenly , but i don't like to be CONNED for there lack of showpersonship.............and going a little over-time is of no benifed to us ' early-birds ' that go home at midnight. ...

Gee's i'm starting to write as much as Johnny.B heeeeeeeeeeheee lol
