From the Where2sing.com forum:

Oh Rovics we all now how good you are, one only has to look at your web site to realize that....but the fact remains is, that the valley area is an ever changing group of people, depending on which bands are playing that night....My point was not how good or bad your show is, the point was you have a smart venue manager for having entertainment on to attract the after the band crowd...From a person who's been going to the valley to see live bands for alot longer than 3 years, i can give you this perspective. After a show if there is the sound of music coming from somewhere, it is usually the alcohol that drives me to check it out, which is how, i would say most people react in the valley..

However if you are as good as you say...;-), you must have a good number of regulars coming back week after week, say out of the 100's that go through the valley every week....over 3 years....probably maybe 40 -50 regulars who come to enjoy your show. That is a tribute to your show then and well done but don't forget to give credit where credit is due and that's to the management and the patron's of your venue for without them you would have no show.

I think maybe some hosts do forget that without us singers / drinkers there is no show. That's why James's point is good because it enables us singers to have an input that may or may not be taken in by hosts, depending on whether they are open to criticism or not...So thanks for an interesting question James on (slsh), you got any more??
