From the Where2sing.com forum: Well James, even when you look at it like that, it's still wrong, beer is also very high in sugar and is not good for you in any way shape or form. A glass of wine once a day with dinner is considered good for the heart but even so. Just because the majority believe they can handle their alcohol, doesn't make it a good thing and it's even worse that it's so socially acceptable.
I knew it wouldn't take long for the argument of fairness about paying for this site to arise. It would be nice if we lived in a world where everything was free and everyone gave their product and/or service away for free out of the goodness of their heart (the true meaning of communism) but humans by nature are greedy. So even those of us that aren't so greedy and are happy to do things for nothing, like David has been doing with this site over the last few years, have to pay for things in order to survive. So if you can't spend all your time working to earn money because you're busy working on things like building websites that tell other people where they can go to spend their hard earned money on alcoholic beverages whilst singing away to the empty orchestra, you might find the need to earn a little money in the outcome. Yes we all know everything on the net should be free, email, search engines, music downloads... but they all get their money from somewhere. Mostly from advertising. I've seen David try to make money from advertising on this site but not many took that up, so like Hotmail did, he kept it free but if you pay for it, it's even better!
Now as for Rob's comments about Kelly's. He's dead right. Kelly's is a great place because of it's diversity, you get all kinds there. Smash Mouth obviously hasn't been there more than once because sometimes you get some incredible singers there. As for the wait time, well yeah, who likes to wait ages? But why is there a long wait? Hmmm, maybe because it's a popular venue? Meet karaoke hosts and singers in the Where2sing.com forums . . . |
