| From the Where2sing.com forum: Okay, so I learned Chris Cornell's song ''You Know My Name'' from ''James Bond: Casino Royale'' this week and had a crack at it last night at Chatswood RSL. Tiny timing mistake but otherwise, what a great song to sing! Got a good response even though many were hearing it for the first time. I did the unthinkable and took it down 2. I don't know about you guys but I HATE having to change key. I used to be okay with it but since learning to extend my range, I've always tried to stick to original key with the exception of Guns 'n' Roses ''Sweet Child O' Mine'' (down 1 for me, thank you very much).
Andlynch remembers I'm sure how I always used to take Elvis songs down 2 or 3 but nowadays, I do them normal key.
It's actually a bit of a problem for me now when I do change keys cos in my head, I still hear the original and by habit, try to sing those notes instead of what is suited to what I am hearing through the speakers. Anyone else have similar probs there?
Anyway, much as I hate repeats at karaoke, I'm gonna be singing this song for a while to come yet - cos I LOVE IT!!! Must be mellowing in my old age.... Heheheh. Okay... my approach to MIDDLE age. lol
