| From the Where2sing.com forum: BTW, when I say 'make sure your audience is having fun,' that does not include saying, 'Is everyone having fun out there?.....Oh c'mon.... You can do better than that!' Nor does it mean making jokes which crack you up but not your audience. If you're the only one laughing, it's not a fun night for everyone, so work on your appeal a bit and try to keep things interesting so that people aren't just tuning into you to hear their own name called, then tuning you right back out again. A good KJ is someone who can enthuse their audience into appreciating karaoke as the great pastime it is. I've been fortunate to encounter several but the majority of those I have seen just really don't have a clue about making a connection with their audience which is the name of the game for KJs and singers alike. For KJs it is particularly important as they will keep audiences coming back for more (taking into account the area and time at which the show runs of course).
