Hi jlee

First time I have 'spoken' to you!! As far as hosts and panel operators singing - if it is a quiet night and there are only a few singers then it is good to see them get up and sing as it often encourages new singers. The thing that I don't like (but I guess that there isn't anything I can do about it) is when hosts and/or panel operators get up and sing at the start of the night, between EVERY round and then at the end of the night especially if there are a lot of singers. I think a lot of people would complain about that. The majority of hosts that I have come across since I have been around karaoke (and that has been since 1997) have fantastic singing voices and it is great to hear them sing, but I think in fairness to the singers who go to the various karaoke shows, they go there to sing they don't go to listen to the host or panel operator sing. As I said in an earlier posting, my husband Mick is a host and he starts of every show with a song, but if it is a busy night then he will not sing again, nor will his panel operator Joe. There are times when a singer will request that either Mick or Joe sing a duet with them and Mick does help out an elderly lady that comes to the Band Club show on a Sunday night as she always asks him to stand with her and sing with her (she is 78 years old).

I've had a good easter and way too much chocolate!! Consequently I have a bit of a headache so I might take myself off to bed.

Hope you have an enjoyable week.
