From the Where2sing.com forum: David: Yes, I think you've got the mix right... only those who plan ahead to go to a karaoke venue will care about the particulars, the average punter is going to continue turning up at the local after work and if karaoke appears there, so be it. Those who care should fork out, its cheaper than buying a disc per month! As a way to discover new places to go and a feel for the place nothing beats Where2Sing (be it karaoke, bands or simply places to eat - these other websites simply do not have the depth of detail or broad community). I think the changes will take an already great resource, that I consider irreplacible, and make it even better. Who else is going to spend a couple of years building up an information database like this? Narly Strumpet: I'm not sure which venue your referring to but prehapes David could indicate which venues a) have comments, b) have recently started to snowball so the rest of us don't miss the fun! If its Kelly's, then can I suggest giving it another go? The potent mix of encentric locals and pro-am singers who drop in towards the end of the night (usually Wednesday nights) makes a great night. I happen to think the host at Kelly's is extremely suited to the venue and runs it well. Kelly's is not meant to be an Australian Idol contest, its more like a Heavy Metal, Pearl Jam and Disco Funk mashup and thats its charm!
