Didn't enter the other comps I intended. Was too tired to go Friday to Auburn RSL (it's been a stressful week) and after a long chat on the phone with a friend, it was too late to attend Northmead, so stayed in. Then, Saturday night, when I got to Redfern RSL, they'd closed the books already with a couple of hours still left of the show! Not used to that. Chatted a bit with Big Bopper who is trying to organize some charity related karaoke, so I suggested he drop by here and post details all about it in the CareAoke forum. An old codger called Gary who dresses up all dandy and who I've seen sing at Chatswood was in attendance too. Most of the singers I heard during my brief stay were quite good and it was nice to see 'Little' Chris (a host) again after so many years! :D I'll be back in 2 weeks there.
All was not lost though, whilst I couldn't recall what other comps were running, I did know the Rag 'n' Famish was on, so called Slater to make sure he and our mutual friends were in attendance and moseyed on over for a couple of songs. Hanging out there and snacking at a pizza joint afterwards with friends made for a good night out.

Comp plan this week so far includes the Northmead Bowlo gig of Popsicle Karaoke's - assuming its heats are still running. If not, I'll head to Auburn RSL instead. I heard of a comp in Parra on Wednesday, so will investigate.
Finally, I was glad to learn that Slater was NOT - I repeat: 'NOT' - the guy who had the coaster writing dummy spit to the judges at Chatswood RSL's grand final. I suspected him since he was the only (to quote Garry of Rising Star Karaoke's post on the matter) 'industry colleague' I knew in the comp but I was glad to learn that my suspicion was misplaced :)
