So you ''can't resist'' and are a Pointer Sisters fan too? I'm now quite tempted to head up to St Pat's Sunday myself to see you strut your stuff. ;) I've heard good things about FJ's from Garry & Di of Rising Star Karaoke too. Sigh... If only it were a COMP but I could do with a social sing, maybe try out a new song or 2 to see if they're comp worthy. However, 3 consecutive karaoke nights ahead, so a fourth might be pushing it but we'll see, eh?
Elimination Final at Matraville Hotel tonight. Woo hoo!!! As with last week's semi, no idea what I'll sing. Just altered my vocal technique yesterday too, so am a little nervous how that is going to pan out but hey, it all adds to the excitement of a night's karaoke! Was surprised last week as the calibre of singing overall was substantially higher than I had been led to expect. One poor girl got ripped off. She sang ''Lady Marmalade'' (Moulin Rouge version) and while on announcement of that as her song choice, I thought it ambitious, she really pulled it off! All she got was a dinner voucher for her effort though. She seemed just as shocked as I. Another girl got through who really didn't deserve it for her comp song. Had it been for her warm up song, absolutely, she should have qualified but her comp one was weak imho. I suspect she got through mainly for her eye candy value.
Tomorrow night, plan is to attend Northmead, then, Saturday night: Redfern RSL again.
