Lex...
Thanks for asking. :) I'm through to the grand final. Was a bit worried I might not get through based on my song choice but was glad to be proven wrong. Next week will be the big challenge cos there's some damn good acts in there - young Lachlan (the one to beat imho) and my fave karaoke couple Rita & Peter (who sing as a duet) and a young Maori guy who performs RnB with a great deal of passion. At the end of the day though, I just have to give it my best shot. Miss Eye Candy did very well last night with her rendition of The Rose. I guess she had just had a bit much to drink before her song last week cos it was a marked improvement last night.
Too much karaoke? I never used to think so (years back, I used to go to karaoke 6 - yes SIX - nights a week!) but other interests have since cropped up so yeah, I'd have to say there is such a thing now as 'too much.'

Now to bring red into this 'conversation'...
Thanks guys :) With you 2 and catman in attendance, I shall HAVE to make the effort to get to Mt Druitt on Sunday, shan't I? See you there! You'll recognize me by my Matrix style coat. It's okay if you wait till after I sing before you introduce yourselves cos for all you know, I could be terrible, right? I wouldn't want you only having me at your table out of obligation ;)

Northmead is a go for tonight for me, barring any emergencies. Hope to see some familiar faces there.

This duets competition at Chatty at first filled me with trepidation. I know Rita & Peter will love it but they make a habit of singing together and thus have a good repertoire. Most others I've seen who sing together only have 1 or 2 songs tops and with a comp that runs over 14 weeks, I suspect strongly most are going to be singing the same duets; the usual suspects of Grease numbers, Endless Love, Love Shack and Paradise By The Dashboard Light. However, I have just had several other duets come to mind, one of which I am itching to try and I know a young lady who has rarely sung at karaoke but recently promised she will sing a duet with me this year (one she herself suggested but chickened out of previously), so maybe I can get her to enter the comp with me.... Hmmm...... So NOW, I am actually hopeful for entering this comp :)
