el barto...
Heya buddy. No Donna Summer from me but I am bummed I'll not be entering the comp. I'm actually starting to miss them! I find myself occasionally thinking of excuses to enter some again.
I used to do quite a few female numbers: Roxette's 'Crash! Boom! Bang!' and 'It Must Have Been Love,' Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time' (which unfortunately traumatized one male fan of the film clip - and it's not like I dressed up or anything! lol) and Whitney Houston's 'I Have Nothing.' Even did Taylor Dayne's 'I'll Be Your Shelter' once and I murdered Kylie Minogue's 'I Should Be So Lucky' but hey, it was fun to try it!
A musical society I was once a member of once held a 'Gender Bender' party where people would have to perform opposite sex songs - in costume too. I dressed up as the main one of the famous '3 Little Maids from School' - YES for the Gender Bender and not in my free time heheheheh. It was a riot! It'd be great to see such a thing done from time to time at karaoke gigs, wouldn't it?
Drag could be optional so that any newcomers wouldn't feel left out - or accidentally dress up the next time they came - due to thinking it was a dress code or something! That'd be funny!

Garry of RSK...
Hiya mate!
The warmth of the sun is with us again! I think we'll need a Friday night for your regulars to wear their special RSK t-shirts... myself included naturally! What do you reckon? I haven't tried mine on yet. Hope it fits!

Re the 'sad' karaoke goers...
Nonsense! Used to go out to karaoke every night but Monday myself - not out of sadness. I'm just not much of a spectator unless it's a good movie, tv show or theatre production. My choice of entertainment is to entertain others! Self centred? Maybe... Worth it? ABSOLUTELY! Heheheheh.
Plus you get to make friends with other karaoke lovers which is how this little cyber community was formed in the first place! Nothing sad about it at all!
