| From the Where2sing.com forum: mmmm....I have to say I enjoy them all! The drunk and warbled renditions of Bohemian Rhapsody, the overly enthusiastic karaoke beginners, the over-the-top, way too serious, need to get a 2nd hobby, water drinking Karaoke lifers, and the 'who the hell cares anyway, it's only a work do' singers!
Yes the same 'classic' (and not so classic) songs over and over week in and out get a bit much, but you gotta take the good with the bad i suppose and just laugh it off! And on a personal note, God help me if I hear American Pie or Bl**dy Proclaimers one more time but at the end of the day, everyone is there for their own personal pleasure and who are we to judge them on what they can and can't chose to sing? They don't understand that we hear those discs repeatedly, as they are only there on the night they chose so for them it's still new and fresh. Unless of course it is a lifer who only knows a handful of songs! *sigh*
And look, if it hurts that much, just play the shorter versions or if it really is mind numbingly painful, pull the ol' 'damaged disc' card or the 'must be in my other rig' card, who is going to know?
I know my comment may be a little contradictory but there are pros and cons for both views and Music Addict - Fully agree! That is exactly it, stress release and a means of escape for some.....let your hair down and run amok!
