| From the Where2sing.com forum: As for long songs, should American Pie if sung, be taken as 2 turns in the list ??? as for any other song of a similar duration. If a guys sings 60's songs that go for say about 2 minutes and someone sings 4 and 5 minute songs, should the guy singing short songs get an extra go somewhere ??? Just stimulating some debate guys. As for 'Evie', if you come to my gig, you will be restricted to Parts 1 or Parts 1 & 2 only !! A mate, Mark, who gets around the countryside can do Evie as good as Stevie Wright, he sings a great rock song. Did a gig at Muswellbrook and low and behold a young dude walked in and nailed Hurricane, only guy I have ever heard could do it, haven't seen him since and he sure must have been a big Dylan fan. You never know who can sing and who can't, always be open minded and wait for the gems that make it all worthwhile. Another suggestion, if a song is being sung bad, sing it better at your table, sing-a-long and get into it !!! LOL...on the subject of madonna, sometimes if a punter asks for American Pie, I get them to do the madonna version, depends. Anyway....may you always enjoy karaoke and keep on singing !!
