| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi Roba, good to catch up with you again at the Payneham Tavern on Thursday.. Re the one person operation, you would have noticed I operate on my own at certain shows, and this is all it requires for some gigs, but then others need 2-person operations, being a host, I also know what is involved in work!!!!when you have an average of 35 singers per show, so I think it depends on the venue, the area (dining room or sports bar), the amount of singers. I enjoy contact with the patrons, whether singers or listeners, and I think this is good PR,which in a one person operation can be difficult, as I believe that if you are operating a sound desk, you should remain behind it unless you are just going out to do a sound check or need a loo break..., thats when I break all records..lol. I think that larger shows run much smoother with an Operator as well as a Host, mind you I don't mind working on my own either...depending on the venue!
