Sammo.... If I'm lucky enough to live to 100 , or close (not very likely I'm afraid) then Five For Fighting's ''!00 years '' would seem appropriate .It's beautifully sad &sweet , & a song that had an instant impact on me from the moment I first heard it , reflecting on my own life ....
But realisticly , Steeley Dan's ''Any Major Dude'' might fit me the best ... 1. because my singing name is Major Wannabe (Fossie Bear calls me up to sing with ''Major Disaster''...!!) 2. because it's just such a ''cool'' song , with a clever lyric & a smooth , feel-good melody , played by brilliant musos (you may have guessed it's up there with MY most loved tunes) & 3. because I have 4 TICKETS to see them when they come to OZ in sept. & some other Steeley Dan nut might just KILL me to get their hands on them .... Does anyone know the song ... ??
Julz .... Funny you should mention your disc being copied while you were singing ... the same thing happened to me (quite) a few tuesdays ago ..... Whenever a Friday 13th comes around , I take my Steeley Dan disc out to sing ''Black Friday'' & during the (brilliant) instrumental / lead-break , the host actually bragged to me that he'd down-loaded the whole disc ! I was sitting with Vic & MikeRophone's Dad , & when I told them I was none to pleased to be told this , MikeRophone's Dad reckoned the same thing had happened to him when he'd brought a disc along. One of this host's avid followers (who was unaware of this incident) was subsequently boasting how this host had the biggest range of songs imaginable , some 200,000 + ..... it's easy to see how ...!!!
