I'm no lawyer and was unsure if allowing my libel to be presented would cause problems, hence my pointing out that it was my comment and mine alone. Glad there should be no trouble from it.
With regards to a host who is also a w2s regular being named, it seems to me the risk is theirs to take by even frequenting the forums as anyone who had reason to suspect them of piracy could take up the issue here. With the ability to use aliases, no one need fear for their identity in naming a host.
The danger I see here is of abuse. Enemies or trouble makers could make false claims just to make things difficult for a host but if they have their supporters here too, then after much argument and name calling, I am sure things could be smoothed over. As we know, some people here often step up to give the benefit of the doubt to people accused of one thing or another and can take sides even when not involved directly, sparking more debate, so imho, it would be fair game if anyone else came forward to name pirate KJs here, whether those hosts be regular visitors or not.
I should point out that my reason for naming him here is because it seemed the fastest way to alert relevant parties of his actions given the wide readership of the forums here compared with simply reporting him to the relevant authorities. Also, by using a public forum, there is only a slight chance of it going to court as opposed to making a formal complaint and actually having to go which would simply chew up my valuable time - something I would rather avoid as I can think of far better ways to spend it. I had often recommended Neil use this site to get more business but if you don't have his email address then obviously, he didn't take advantage of it. I don't have his details in my contact lists any more but am curious as to what you would actually say to him if you did have his email. lol.
