| From the Where2sing.com forum: HI Music Addict...that's right good music gear is not cheap and believe me when i say this , you only get what you PAY for with music equipment , but i must say your comments that good bands are staffed with 'ol'farts' because they are the only one's who can afford equipment is not totally correct, there are many factors , but mainly older people have there act more going on , including much better control ,more relieable , not thinking always with there !! well below the waiste line hehe, plus when i first had a band (not long after leaving high school) , i went out and did 1 full time & 1 p/t job (20-30 hrs p/w) to save up and pay for my gear which was back when equipment was much dearer then now , when you have a real dream you go without until you can afford to pay for that dream...plus i would love to get into a modern band doing todays music but a 46 yo greying bloke on the heavy side must be content with doing bloody old c/w & r&r music , but with karaoke i can belt out the latest songs ...
