| From the Where2sing.com forum: Johnny B - As you point out MOST of the people you quoted matured into getting singing technique down pat later in life and all had a natural ability which allowed them to begin in the business in the first place. Anyone who ends up in the business is there for this very reason. They have a natural ability. THEN someones suggests to them to do some training.
I do understand what you mean by perfect pitch. Which is why I sited Barbra Streisand. In the beginning, how many singing lessons did Elvis have, any of you Elvis fans out there? I don't know but I do know that he started in the business because of his natural ability. This is all I am saying. I have a friend who sings at karaoke and really can't hit a true note. She has lots of fun though and people are kind to her. This 'kindness' prompted her to find a singing teacher. Now this singing teacher wanted to put her singing comps etc. This girl is not and will be never ready to sing in a competition and this singing teacher is just taking money. (As alot of them do). My friend has no natural ear and will never be a 'singer' of sorts but she sure loves Karaoke!!
