From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hmm it seems that people here have a problem with Levers point of view, lets start shall we?There is such as thing as common respect and that covers most things in this forum . Calling names and pointing out fellow singers faults can be harmful to what i like to call our Family ( would any one of us out there enjoy having our families treated in such a fashion? i think not) When it all comes down to it the brave souls that do go out of their comfort zones to try something new are the real reason why Karaoke has managed to survive the ups and downs it has endured for so long. lets face it people so what if you are tone deaf, untalented and off key?if you have the guts to get up and sing you deserve to at least get applause! but most of all the snide and nasty statements have to stop (unless you want to have an atmosphere of elitism). And as Tom has said about saboteurs out there sometimes you have to give these people enough rope to hang themselves with,as it shows a lack of maturity on our behalf to lower our standards to the level with which they themselves fall.I can remember when i first came across Karaoke in the early 90's when i saw a sticker promoting karaoke ,it said simply Ave a go. Bill Masters was right on the money with that sticker and as such has led a generation of punters, singers and hosts to get to the main point, if you don't have a go you won't know what you are missing. Simple in its message don't you think? and i still can't remember booing jeering or carrying on on a website to get that point across. Finally after all this vitriol i wonder does anyone really care what happens? Having someone turn up to a show just to cause a scene and possibly get the gig after would have to be out of their minds(you hearing me Krazy Kath?) if you are worth your salt you shouldn't worry yourselves with it cos the punters sure as hell won't let it slide and will vote with their feet . I'll just go back into my secret underground lair to rest until my next gig after having a Bex and a good lie down lmao
