| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi Everyone - Sorry I haven't been in to keep everyone up to date on the winners of the Karaoke World Championships Australian Trials 2007. Hadn't been feeling too crash hot for quite some time and eventually had to have an operation. Put me out of action for a while but now I'm on the mend :)
We now have 4 of our eventual 7 Grand Finalists. Congratulations goes to Kellie Smythe (Vic), Phill Maher (Nth Qld), Gary Brown (Reg. NSW) & Stephen Quinlivan (WA). Tasmanian Final coming up this Friday with the NSW State Final being held on Sat. 14th July & the Qld State Final on Sat. 4th August, just before the Grand Final.
It was great to catch up, meet and personally thank a lot of the hosts at the Victorian State Final. Their enthusiasm was contagious and they all did a great job. Looking forward to catching up with a few of the other hosts at the Grand Final. Big thank you to Teresa West, Marco, Rachelle & Heather for all of their help with the Victorian State Final. Huge thank you also to our WA State Co-ordinator, Joan Boden. Joan's good friend, Caz, who played a major part in the co-ordination of our WA State Finals over the years, passed away unexpectedly this past week on the eve of the WA State Final. Joan kept her head up and the show on the road, making the night a celebration of Caz's life. A perpertual trophy was presented to the winner in Caz's name. We're really proud of her.
Thanks to Paul Claydon from Custom Karaoke & Mike Vee for their efforts regarding the Regional NSW State Final and to the Central Hotel in Tamworth who offered accommodation to all of the State Finalists. I looked after the Nth Qld State Final so thank you to me, too....lol. Last, but not least, thank you to all of the participating venues.
We're really looking forward to finding out who our lucky winner will be who will be jetting off to Thailand in September for the international finals! Full details including winners' names, participating venues & operators can be found on our website.
