I must add though that I have no intention of acting as a Karaoke policeman but I do send out a strong warning to other Hosts that don’t bother about obtaining the necessary licences or who download songs illegally from the internet, it is only a matter of time guys before you get caught and just isn’t be worth it.
JB thanks for that info, I had to renew my licence the other day and a quick check with AMCOS (part of APRA) revealed that there are only about four KJ around Australia that have bothered to obtain the necessary licence to record their singers.
Now I’m one, I believe another is ...... from Victoria as I past on to him information on how to obtain the licence and what was necessary and now you say your friend then that only leaves one other person so I wonder who it is?
By the way its not a money making business for me as it takes a lot of my time at home to burn their song to disc after I re do it to make them sound as good as I can and then I print a label on the disc along with the words required by AMCOS under the agreement, but I must say I love doing this as a service for my regular singers.
