Galveston, oh, Galveston....' I LOVE that song!! Used to listen to it a lot as a kid. Must see if I can find it again, may even try it at karaoke myself dependent on how key friendly it is for me.
Speaking of song choices, alas, Ketchup Queen didn't receive my emailed suggestion of the duet I had in mind for us to try last Friday at Chatty and didn't know the song well enough to try on the spot, so we opted for (I've Had) The Time Of My Life from Dirty Dancing. She didn't know the song very well and our voices just didn't really match. Didn't take long to lose the audience with that one which is disappointing given its usual crowd pleasing potential. However, she has since tried my suggested number and can't do it anyway, so, looks like she may be teaming up with another familiar face to the comp scene and I had been asked by another girl to sing with her, so I'll see how that goes.
However, I have suggested KQ and I try another duet just for fun this week if she can learn it in time. It's an unusual number. I'm not naming these good songs I have in mind cos I don't want anyone else stealing them before I get myself a partner for the comp. lol
