| From the Where2sing.com forum: Roba... the state shown next to your name is either the last State that you've selected, or the last State that you've searched in the Gig Listings. You can change the option to have all States shown in the forums dropdown box by changing your selection in the 'Sign Out' page options. The General Forum is shown first in the list because it's the General Forum - and it loads so you don't have to click something extra to make it load - by you can always change to a different forum whilst it's still loading.
The reason not to have dozens of different threads, many which are routinely misnamed, and where you have no idea which posts you've read and which you haven't, is to keep continuity in the forums. Think of the different forums on W2S as different threads and you'll get the hang of it.
Another reason for the simple W2S forum system is that many people are looking for the latest posts, and keep up with everything that's going on in their State or in the General Forum, and are not spending all day as computer-fanatics searching around all the forums.
