Tom you really are like an old broken record that seems to be stuck in the same old groove.
All your complaints seem to be centered around peoples standard of singing and if it doesn’t fit into what you would like or expect then it’s wrong.
No matter how many times you write about things such as “I'm talking about awful singers, not bad ones” then I will keep on reminding you that Karaoke is about people having fun and I have generally noticed that the people that sing off key or out of tune are still having fun singing Karaoke as well.
They are also generally the ones that pay their own way and spend heaps of money during the night.
I wish I had a $1 for every time I’ve heard someone say “Kev, I will sing later as I haven’t had enough drinks yet”.
At Peakhurst Inn we have a varied mix of singers that range from excellent to those that could be classified as “get up & have a goeeeeeeeeeeeeeers” and I love them all.
The reason I love this group of people is simple, they are not judgemental of others, they definitely don’t just sit there and whinge, they just enjoy there 5 minutes of fun each time their turn comes around and they also share in the fun of others.
Maybe it’s because there young and they see the world differently, but it works.
Johnny B congratulations in making it to the audition stage and I wish you well.
If you want to practice you know where to find us.
James also congratulations to you to in making it to the auditions, well done.
Take care all and sing for fun, I know I do.
Kind Regards
Kev
