Thanks. I had actually thought of that but I don't actually know which version is best of the songs I have in mind. It's rare that I pay attention to that. I just attend a gig and select a code from the book which isn't always the same code as the disc or even indicative of the disc brand. So hearing it's Sunfly ir Sound Choice or whatever doesn't really help me but thanks for trying to help.

I was actually thinking along those lines already but thank you for the suggestion all the same. Having been singing at karaoke for about 14 years now, I have tried my hand at all number of songs for comps and there's others still I'd LIKE to try yet. So choosing at present still has me in a bit of a quandary. Heheheh. (Wasn't comp chasing all that time but many karaokes would just put me into their finals when I didn't even realize there was a comp running). Time was I attended 6 karaokes a week and not being one for repeating myself too often, I've clocked up my songs in that time. Not ALL are done well by me. In fact some are downright dreadful to listen to me sing them but there's plenty more I feel are comp / audition worthy.

True. Not all do go for karaoke and I agree that a truly spectacular performer can get a crowd to shut up and listen in spite of themselves but I don't think the boiling point author is being selfish. I've seen one venue matching the description they give but at comp times, the pool tables which were close to the stage area, would be covered at least and KJ's usually do ask for a bit of common courtesy from the crowd so it's not an unreasonable request that that be done in a comp. Of course, I'm assuming this person is referring to a grand final night. If it was just a heat, then I'm with you 100% James. :)
