Music Addict...
Yep. As Barri Tone says, playing by ear, mate. Same as most singers, sing by ear without knowing the notes in written music or how a visually impaired person from birth can learn to play piano. I learned keyboard by ear but like you, learned guitar using tablature but can play both by ear also. I remember tuning my first acoustic guitar's G-Chords to those in Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Elvis' Marie's The Name Of His Latest Flame as I didn't have a tuner and don't yet have 'perfect pitch' (the ability to sing specific notes on command as accurately as a musical instrument with no prompting from any source but your own memory). Playing by ear is great cos it lets you experiment with basically anything you want to.

James...
Absolutely agree with you regarding the possible pitfalls of guitaroke when it comes to drunken louts and I hope BillyT and Kev don't have too much hassle there as the thought crossed my mind too.
I HATE having to tune guitars. I try to buy strings that stay in tune longer just to avoid the hassle. Hehehe.

BillyT...
Didn't go anywhere mate. Still there. Unfortunately, Perry Como's 'It's Impossible' is STILL the only recording of mine that will play at the moment. I did include the link in a previous post to that one but here it is again if you missed it.

It's not too bad considering there's no fx on the voice but I'd prefer to hear the stuff I did down the octave - including Barry White's 'You're The First, The Last, My Everything.' Hopefully not too long till the server troubles are fixed.
