Hey BillyT...
I take it that's your gig showing on the main page (or at least it was at the time of this post)?
Do people seriously have to book in advance before they're allowed into the Sports Bar of this place? That seems like a sure fire way to be scraping by instead of turning a profit. I can't imagine it helping the karaoke show any although you say it's held in the main bar, so why bother mentioning the sports bar? I'm confused.

That's interesting. I find sheet music confusing but TAB easy. I know pretty well all the symbols and meanings in written music but can't read them fluently. I'm like someone who knows their alphabet but can't read words without having to sound them out. I look at all those little black dots and lines and interpret along the lines of '''Every Good Boy...' Okay that's a B Flat. 'FACE' Okay, that's an E'' y'know? I compose my songs by ear then work out the music after recording them, then re-record with proper meter. With guitar, I don't even bother writing it just yet. I just make a note of the chords used and the kind of rhythms involved with strumming and if applicable, how it all fits in with the lyrics.
I'm much more at home with figuring out melodies by ear than chords. It can get mighty frustrating when song writing cos I hear the chords in my head but when I try to play them, I can tell it's the wrong combination of notes whatever that's called. Like instead of a CEGC chord, it might be a GCEC chord, y'know?
