Hi Samantha

In answer to your question regarding singer rotations. At our show if Mick calls up a singer and he/she does not answer the first call (due to be out in the smoking area or possibly in the Ladies or Mens Room) Mick will then put that singer's song request aside and call the next singer. When that singer has finished, he then calls the singer who did not answer his/her first call. Usually by then I will have gone out to see where the singer is and I inform them that they are next up to sing. Mick will keep calling the person until the person either shows up or he is informed that the person has left.

With duets, at our show it depends on how busy we are. If there are a lot of singers (and the St Marys Band Club show can have anywhere from 25 to 50 singers on any Sunday night). It it is busy then Mick will only allow one song per singer per round and that includes duets, if it is not so busy then he will let the person sing in a duet and also a song on his/her own, but that usually only happens on a quiet night. He has to be careful doing that as he can get a backlash from the audience of 'hey that person has already been up to sing in a duet'. One thing I have found is that you can't please everyone all the time.

Have a good day.
