BillyT...
Ah! So THAT'S why you asked. Hehehe. Wearing headphones (via the computer) when recording cos A: feedback an issue without and B: I've heard a recording there of one other singer who obviously recorded with speakers as monitors cos the music was echoing something shocking due to being picked up by the microphone during recording.

Cool weekend of karaoke for me.
Saturday, was at a popular NSW venue - an RSL in the western suburbs - which in and of itself was fine but afterwards, on the bus trip home, became even more so. A band of youths boarded. My first thought was a sarcastic, 'Great. A GANG. Perfect end to the evening.' However, I was pleasantly surprised when they joined me at the rear of the bus and one guy asked me straight away if I was a singer (for some reason, I looked like one to him) and then was prompted into impromptu requests ranging a great diversity of music: opera, hip hop, Elvis (Love Me Tender specifically which was a shock to all of us - me for the request and them cos they loved it), Stevie Wonder and others. It was like a karaoke trip home.
These male youths (late teens to early 20s maximum) were of diverse ethnicities: 2 Philippino's, 1 Samoan, 1 Maltese and 1 (Caucasian) Aussie and we were later joined by a New Zealand Maori who brought an appreciation for Bob Marley to the table (besides my own).
It was so great to see such young guys interested in such a diverse range of music. There's hope for the future of music yet, I feel. I'm sure we've all had our doubts from time to time when hearing the majority of what I think of as 'assembly line' music being cranked out by the tanker loads.
Tonight, another popular venue again in Sydney's west run by the same lovely KJs and what a night it was. Lots of people, lots of fun - even lots of pizza for some reason and birthday caramel mudcake shared with many - birthday girl being mum to one of our regular w2s-er's.
Great night out there as always but even more so with the attendance of ceepat, catman and Ray, A Cowboy's Sweetheart with the cowboy himself (the limping Legend), puss in boots and Legend's brother along with regular Lex and of course Fossie and Joan at the helm. Just a great, great time.
Afterwards, I went nextdoor to catch a movie and was served by the best piece of eye candy I've seen in a long time and she took an instant shine to me for reasons unknown. Even called me 'sweety' in her opening sentence which near dumbfounded me. I'll be going back there SOON you can bet! LOL.
The cab I caught to karaoke in order to save me train travel time and get me an extra song proved a huge mistake due to cabbie missing our exit and getting me there later than the train would have and at much greater cost than the train. NOT happy. At least he was good enough to charge me a few bucks less than it would have been had we actually taken the proper exit. Still, result was missing time with great company and no chance of a second song due to how busy it was. Never mind. The fun factor and Ms Eye Candy (and a good movie) afterwards made up for it.
