I have been told the story of how he knocked back a deal from colonel tom parker, something about how if he was offered a million, then he was worth TEN million and no way the greedy so and so was getting Robert's name on a contract unless he was offered what he was really worth... Obviously a combination of Robert's imagination (as we know he is prone to exaggeration) and these nasty people getting a laugh at his expense... very cruel indeed...
Criticisms of other singers aside, he does have a big heart, and obviously loves performing.
He was telling me the problem's he's been having with his son.. and I think it's interesting the huge number of people who use karaoke as an escape from the real world... I know I do... Karaoke is my outlet... and lots of other people see karaoke the same way.
