From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hi Catman I agree wholeheartedly but what some people do is turn up early and wait awhile to put they put their names in.
The only fair way to do a fair rotation is first come first served.
That is the first to put a song request in, is first.
As you know we use both singing slips and clip board at Peakhurst Inn which has all singers’ names and order they hand their song in.
The song slips are for three reasons.
1. They have all the information on such as singers name, song request, disc number and if any key change is required.
2. I use these to check the disc and to call out the singer’s name.
3. Last but not least after the singer has sung they go in to our barrel for a chance of prizes at the end of the night.
The clip board acts also for three purposes
1. This shows singers who’s first, second third and so on.
2. It’s also a record of who sings what and how many singers we have in each round during the night and
3. It enables us as well as our singer to gauge how long they will have to wait for their next song.
It’s not rocket science to be able to keep a good and fair rotation ensuring that it’s the same for everyone that comes to sing whether they are regulars or first timers.
Have a great day Catman and say Hi to Ray for me.
Guitaraoke is also one step closer in happening as I have just purchased the necessary equipment to enable the guitars to be plugged into my system.
Take care all and have a great day.
Kind Regards
Kev
