We did have a small trial run of Guitaraoke on Wednesday night at Peakhurst Inn with 1 of our regulars (thanks Beattie) playing along to a normal Karaoke song and another person singing the song but unfortunately we had to do it twice. In the end it went reasonably well after a few bugs were ironed out. A couple of others also had a play with the Guitar prior to the start of our Karaoke Show.
The Guitaraoke will officially start this coming Wednesday.
So far I think there will be about 6 or 7 people bringing their own Guitars.
The biggest problem is that hardly any off them can read chords but play by ear so they couldn’t follow the Chords on screen of the Guitaraoke Karaoke discs.
So to make allowance for that I’ve said they can play any Karaoke song they want including their own material.
The way it will work is that I will use the same format for singing rotation that we currently use (1st name in 1st to sing and or play Guitar, 2nd name in 2nd to sing etc) this way the Karaoke and Guitaraoke will be interwoven and integrated with each other and with no one missing out on Karaoke or Guitaraoke
I have brought a Guitar that I will take but most people have indicated that they will bring and play their own.
If it proves successful I will put it on every 3 to 4 weeks.
