| From the Where2sing.com forum: I am surprised GregW. Isn't it about first in best dressed. How can you say if you are there early/first you won't necessarily be first. How can a rotation work if one gets there at 8, the other 9, and the earlier has to wait. Must be good to be one of those singers that you decide keeps the vibe going. I don't know what the Newcastle people are like but I know myself and many others would not be happy nor be repeat attenders if I was first in one round then middle or last in the next. If you are spot on with rotation then by the time each person gets up they have had a wait (assuming there are singers there) they are ready to sing again and the audience listen. You will note the two top venues for a long time both havelong song waits on occasion, many singers (over 30different) every week but maintain singer rotation as close as possible. This is what makes them fair and successful. Plus the good song list, atmosphere etc. Kellys for example is always busy, and totally pumping. It is not a contest for singers in fact the regulars would prefer a smaller crowd sometimes but this venue just attracts everybody and anybody. Thats what its about. As for communication, this place is to loud and pumping that unless you call there name out or sing there fave song, they ain't going to hear you.
