Wth so called 'comp chasers' coming only at the start and end of heats doesnt that give the regulars the chance to get in on the other nights? And also means that the comp chasers are against each other and often the amount of available spots for final are limited per night so would mean not all the 'comp chasers' get thru. For a person to win a comp, theoretically they have to be the best on whatever night they perform so it doesnt matter when they perform.There is always a positive to every situation!
And as I said before, many people enjoy the 'better' performances of the better singers and want to come and see them again!
As for The Possums, know exactly how u feel. Had many a case where because I could sing well I was treated as if i wase a snob by regulars because although i could perform I was shy around groups I didn't know and kept to myself most times. Not all bad though, there are many accepting people out there. BUT ... don't give anyone else the power to miss out on what you enjoy!
