| From the Where2sing.com forum: One last gripe personally for Johnny B,
I have been watching this post without input for over a year now although I may only check it out once a fortnight or so. However, I read in your posts that you think you have the goods to make a career as a singer/ songwriter. You profess it time and time again and although I cannot confirm this, I imagine that you have been saying this for years before I was listening to the posts.
I have 2 thoughts: firstly I must say that I have seen you perform both in person and also in videos. My humble opinion is that I am not sure there would be a market out there for you. I do not think you are good enough. Vocally as a recording artist or in terms of marketability. I am not saying this as a personal attack in any way though, maybe more as a kick for you to get you started.
My opinion is but an opinion though. If you really believe in yourself then you never know where you can head. My 2nd point is more to the point. You have constantly said that you would be 'making it' if you had the finances to do so. The amount you write and your schedules you write of show that you have some time on your hands. Have you seriously considered getting a job to finance the projects? Waiting tables? Behind a bar instead of going to a venue to sing karaoke? Make enough money to buy a small system and a good enough car to start gigs. If you are a good enough singer then you would then be able to sing in restaurants and clubs (cabaret act for your fave singer perhaps) for money and then finance a demo etc. I am not sure you even have a plan let alone trying to follow it! And if you are really that good, why give up on the competitions? If you win them then you can use the cash from them to finance your move into the industry. Or why havent we seen you in Idol or something like that? Take your chances and show your talent if you believe you are good enough.
If you want to make it, stop talking about it and do something about it!!
Although i don't think you have what it takes, I put the challenge out there for you to prove me wrong. But please, enough of the talk! Do something about it! Again, I don't want you to see this as a personal attack. I want you to see the world in reality terms instead of perhaps like many of those Idol rejects see the world that their mothers and friends profess to them 'Oh you are the best singer and you should be a star'
