At no time do my posts employ the notion tha karaoke should be about professional singers and disregard all others. I am referring to karaoke competitions where once a competitoin is grounded that the person with the highest standard should received just reward.
One of the things about normal karaoke is that the worst of singers can get up and give it a go and have their fun. I just disagree with the general notion that you seem to imply (and forgive me if I am assuming your implication) that the better singers, or those in competitions, are serious and therefore do not have fun. Fun is different to everyone! Just because a person may be good and take something seriously (by serious meaning they make sure they give a good performance) does not mean they do not also enjoy it!
