I am confident with Bad Habits by Billy Fields to start with. The song for me has got the ingredients that I want for a first song. It can get your attention with it's vibrant sound, the song has a very good tempo that enables you as a host to sing have fun a bit while trying to loose nerves. It has got a rythm that allows you to ' show off 'a bit. the song also has an instrumental part in the middle of the song which gives me the time to say what I want to say, like g'd evenin' folks, welcome to another night of karaoke , blah ....blah .... blah.....
Then if I allow myself for a second song, you know to be confident that my microphone is right, I will do something like Heaven by Bryan Adams.or Mystify by INXS. FOR me I have some combo coz I don't want to be predictable. I mean next week will be different.
I think I can't go wrong with aussie songs. Oy ....Oy.....Oy...
