| From the Where2sing.com forum: I agree that there should be a degree of wiping the slate clean with a new host, but to lose any mention of any previous votes would be to lose all the history. I'm not sure that I agree completely that a new host in an old venue constitutes a completely new gig, and think that this is the case only in the eyes of keen karaokers.
Remember that this vote is purely one on whether the info is considered accurate, and forms a control over singers/hosts' claims; I think it's fair that a new host in an old gig does carry some of the baggage of its previous reputation.
Take this scenario to test the suitability of the present voting system:
1. A gig is bad, has info saying it's great, and people rightly vote it as inaccurate.
2. A new host comes, the new gig is good, the info is accurate, and the previous votes are shown as being for the previous info.
3. As time passes, the new host changes his info several times and the associated votes consequently join the really old votes, now producing an improving average across all the editions of old info, thus - as time goes by - slowly improving the rating of previous info; and the present info is also receiving a good rating for accuracy.
Doesn't this seem to work out as being pretty fair?
