catman...
Greetings! You can still call me Johnny B, sweetie. The full name's just for anyone here who searches for me online like at karaoke sites.
The only mate I can think of in common with Dean is Andrew who used to host my first regular karaoke haunt before handing over the reins of Carry On Karaoke and moving up to Qld. He occasionally posts on the General Forum. I also know Dean's wife(?) Briget from back in those days. Before my ex and I split, we did a karaoke show for her at a school one night and that was the last time I saw her. So much has happened in both our lives in the meantime, it'll be an interesting chat when we eventually meet up again.
As for Dean's energy, yes, I saw him doing his breakdancing at Manly and was actually intimidated thinking, even my well known splits move won't compete with THAT! I did it anyway and it still got a good reaction. As someone who loves to entertain, it's hard to not put pressure on yourself when chances are the audience couldn't give a rat's what I do so long as they still have fun.

Barri Tone...
Ah yes. Rudi & Carl. They were the first lot who took over my first regular karaoke haunt. I didn't much enjoy their shows, I'm afraid. The whole crowd changed pretty much there after they came in and all but disappeared with the next karaoke crew. Have only seen Rudi & Carl once or twice in the meantime and their style didn't seem to have changed any so I opted for other shows. No disrespect is meant to them. They're good singers and well presented but the vibe of their show just didn't gel with me. Plus I was kinda tired of hearing 'She's Got Your Picture' and a few other songs I had heard them do week in, week out when they frequented Andrew's show with the same repertoire. Give us some VARIETY for crying out loud! LOL Like I said though: Good singers. Just not my style and I'm pretty sure the feeling was mutual.
