Hello everyone
Oh my goodness, I've just spent nearly the past 2 hours catching up on all the posts!!! Jeez the soap opera continues... amazing what happens in a week! Hmm, well, where do I begin... I had a busy week travelling interstate, and had to deal with my laptop being stolen, but I've managed to scrounge another for now. I attended a couple of venues down in Melb, and Qld. It's strange the different atmosphere you come across... some a bit too intense, and other's just pure fun! Anyway, I got to Manly on Wed night, and have been wanting to write earlier... but lack of laptop failed me to do that!

JB - Yep, totally agree it was a sham wasn't it... which was a shame, as there were some good entertainers. I don't believe it was the host's fault, he seemed annoyed at how everything had changed! Isn't that false advertising though - there must be some law against that? I think it was also highly unfair friends were able to vote - doesn't that just become a popularity contest and not anything based on talent!? Why didn't they then do a sing off for the top 3 and the host's has the final say? Anyway, I also disagreed with the results... the girl in 2nd was vocally good, and another girl that sung Simply The Best I think.. didn't she sit with you and your friends? well, thought she should have been up there... rather than the girl that won... but I also think that Kieran should have won, regardless of whether he had dressed up or not, he was by far the best vocally and entertaining. It was shocking, but it was pure entertainment, just like Robbie in his video... and think it's great someone took time to bring raise the bar...and in terms of remembering people's performance, regardless of whether they won or not, that would stand out. As for Guest's essay (which this one feels like it's getting that way - sorry I'll keep it brief!) - I do think he has a valid point aswell. I'm not a singer, but as a model, the whole industry is very fickle and people get judged on looks, that's unfortunately our society for you, regardless of whether they are a great singer/dancer etc... ie... Casey Donovan?! I have to say I was disappointed with your 2nd song, and agree that maybe you need to re-evaluate your image if you don't want to be stereo-typed as an Elvis impersonator.. you had great dance moves - so why not do a more upbeat dance song!? I really don't think you have marketability to make it big time as a singer, but why don't you do more magic, or an act combining both?? Before anyone says I can't judge on market ability, I am a model, so feel I can give a strong opinion on these things, but at the same time, yes, I've battled with 'image' issues, and still do, thanks to the industry, so can totally understand, and yes, I suffer low self-esteem, so no one is perfect, you just have to make the most of what you have, and have fun along the way... ambitions and dreams are great, it's what keeps us going... and if you achieve them even better, you just have to be realistic sometimes. Guest/Believer - I'm not judging on anyone's character... and wouldn't unless I had met any of you. JB - you come across as a very nice and well educated person, but I just wanted to have my opinion.
