Actually, a few more things about Lindsay, she once told me she had it in mind to gain a following through the karaoke circuit by performing her own songs in karaoke format. An idea that I endorsed and also wish to model though unlike her at the time, I don't think that is enough to 'become a star' but I certainly see it as a start for generating 'buzz.'
I was kinda miffed at her when she created her own website and obviously plagiarised portions of it. Ordinarily, wouldn't have been such an issue but given that we provided respective links, anyone visiting my site via hers might think I had stolen from HER! So I reworked mine. Time consuming but needed it anyway and it has undergone several changes in the meantime. Cheeky little girl, she is.
She was also the major influence in making me seriously becoming a song writer (rather than just as a hobby) as she played for me some of her own material recorded at home onto mini disc and it sounded way better than anything on the radio. I wish I had her mixing talent for my own songs. Actually, I still play that first song of hers I heard and later performed with her in the band 'Woke'.
She had hopes of going to appear on the Parkinson show in the UK after sending him a song about him which reportedly, he had listened to and loved. I shared her ambition there and this year when he announced his retirement from the show, I was saddened I would not get the chance to realize that dream for myself and was thus reminded of Lindsay yet again.
Actually, reckon I'll pull out the old EP I have of hers now and give it a listen. I've avoided painful memories by letting it sit idle in the collection for the last few years but it's time to lay those times to rest, I think. Pity my fave songs of hers aren't on it but no matter.
