| From the Where2sing.com forum: Well after reading all the posts regarding sound, especially Tom’s constant tirade on the subject, I decided as a host to do something positive about it.
Any Host can ask the question of their regulars of “Hey do you like the Show how am I doing” and get the response they want to hear, but this may not reflect the true feelings of the people that attend and so the Host maybe missing out on something that could improve their Show and also attract new people.
So what’s the answer?
After thinking about this for awhile, I decided last night, to distribute a questionnaire to people at Peakhurst Inn.
The distribution of the questionnaire was given to both singers, non singers and of course bar staff.
The questionnaire was simplistic and also anonymous.
It covered such things as whether the music was too loud, too soft or ok. It also covered areas such as Echo/Reverb, Bass, Treble, Smoke and Bubble machines, Lighting, Dance breaks, Starting and Finishing times, Microphones, and of course it had a section for General Comments to Improve the Karaoke Show.
I must say I was very pleased with the results and the general comments section was also valuable to me with some people putting down songs they would like me to get, but to one of the suggestions the answer is “NO, KEV WON’T TAKE OFF HIS CLOTHES” lol
