| From the Where2sing.com forum: T.D.K....funny the you mention the round robin series.I am currently putting together something similar-a tri series between Newcastle,Central Coast and Sydney singers.Anything different takes alot of work but I can't help myself-it a great idea and it's mainly a matter of having the rapport with other operators to put it together.Will be interested to trade results-not programmed dates yet but will be sooner than later.
RE: RECENT POSTS......We all have many stories of events at karaoke shows but the negative ones are such a minority that it hardly rates a mention and most situations are dealt with quickly by the staff and security and if not should be.My wife Sue has the ability to diffuse situations with the younger ones-I suppose with having 5 sons and three at 'that age' it's just day to day life.I call her the 'KARAOKE NAZI'.Also mix pubs,grog and hormones we would be naive the think that every show will be clear sailing.The publican has to make a profit so that's how it goes.
I can understand the karaoke operators getting their backs up re: recent comments.The focus initially was re:noise and sound but has gravitated more now to crowd behaviour .Kev....you summed it up.Normal karaoke is sometimes loud and some want it louder.Your survey showed your good judgement which really is the greatest skill of a good operator and long termer in the business.
