I don’t think it would be a waste of time or money if you took singing lessons.
If the passion and commitment is there go for it.
Any Sport, Hobby, Art etc can only and generally does improve with some expert advice or tutoring.
Most times we seek people with experience to help us in aspects of life and not because we want to be professional, but because we simply want to improve in what we choose to do.
Singing is no exception.
When my two daughters were sing in the group “Anonymous” they where having singing lessons and it surely did improve they way they preformed.
James and Greg are right and you will have to start at the beginning with the basics.
I will ask my daughter Lisa if she could recommend a good singing teacher in your area.
As you’re probably aware Lisa has completed her Degree in Music and is now in the last few months of her course, where she will qualify as a High School music teacher.
Unfortunately she doesn’t live locally anymore and lives on the Central Coast.
