Music Addict .... Whilst tone & Timing , or phrasing , are important .... NOTHING is more important than pitch. MA , with all due respect , the middle paragragh of your last post is SOOOO incorrect , that you should sign up for music & singing lessons , immediately after you've looked up the literal meaning of pitch , & tone , in the dictionary ...
& James T ... I 'm sorry mate , but pitch & tone dont just ''take care of themselves'' . If they're in need of work , then hard work & focus will be needed to make any more than a slight improvement ....
Puss'n' Boots .... My advice to you is , by all means pursue some singing lessons , but find a teacher who will set you tasks. You'll be wasting your time & money if you think you can go to a teacher for 1 hour a week & acheive improvement . The older you get the more difficult it is to improve but if you put in 1-2 hours a day , after a few weeks or couple of months you should start to see some progress . Pitch work means scales , scales ,scales & it's important that you pitch correctly against the right note. Bottom line .... plenty of hard work . Good Luck babe, it WILL be worth it .... lol ..
